ACT Policing is seeking dash-cam footage or witnesses to a road rage incident on the Monaro Highway, which occurred on Thursday 9 November 2017.

About 7.50am, a silver Corolla and a white Toyota Land Cruiser travelled from Drakeford Drive onto Johnson Drive, Calwell, before turning left onto the Monaro Highway.

About 8.00am, the two vehicles were involved in a rear end collision, north of the Isabella Drive and Monaro Highway intersection. After the collision, the drivers of the vehicles were involved in an altercation.

Officer in Charge of Tuggeranong Police Station, Station Sergeant Chris Meagher said this incident is a timely reminder that police do not tolerate dangerous driving on our roads.

“Acting aggressively on the road is incredibly dangerous behaviour that puts yourself and others at considerable risk.”

“A small accident can have serious consequences and could result in serious injuries or death.”

“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. If you are involved in a confrontational situation on the road, do not engage. Take note of the registration and details of the vehicle and driver and report it to police.”

“If you are genuinely concerned for your safety or if the situation becomes life threatening, call Triple Zero (000). If you witness a confrontational situation occurring, contact police on 131 444.”

Police are urging anyone who may have dash-cam footage or any information about the incident that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
