Police seek witnesses after woman assaulted

ACT Policing is seeking the assistance of the public in its investigation of a sexual assault on a woman in north Canberra during the early hours of Friday morning (March 14).

The 33-year-old woman had been walking alone from Belconnen toward Florey, along Joynton Smith Drive, Coulter Drive and John Cleland Drive between 2.30am and 4am. A vehicle stopped and offered her a lift which the woman accepted. She was then sexually assaulted.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses who may have seen a woman walking alone in the vicinity of Joynton Smith Drive in Belconnen, and Coulter Drive and John Cleland Drive in Florey during the early hours of Friday morning. Or from any witnesses who may have information about vehicles seen in the area at the time, or a vehicle stopped on the roadside at these locations.
