Police seek witnesses to aggravated robbery in Westfield Belconnen

ACT Policing are seeking witness to an aggravated robbery inside Westfield Belconnen yesterday afternoon (31 December).

About 4pm, a man entered the Smart Dollar store located on Level 1 of Westfield Belconnen. About ten minutes later, the man approached the cashier to purchase an item. During the transaction the man threatened the staff member with a small knife, reached into the cash register and took an amount of cash. The man fled on foot through the mall towards Benjamin Way.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid-20s, about 175cm (5’9”) tall and of a slim build. He was wearing a dark T-shirt, dark shorts and a baseball cap.

ACT Policing attended and AFP Forensic Services examined the scene. Investigations are ongoing and police are seeking CCTV footage from the area.
