Police seek witnesses to assault on child

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after a 12-year-old boy was assaulted by an unknown man in Rivett yesterday (Thursday, July 26, 2018).

About 3.15pm, the boy was walking along a pathway connecting Salsola St and Darwinia Terrace, Rivett when he was assaulted by the man.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 170cm (5’7”) tall, and of medium build. He had a medium-length orange beard, and was wearing black sunglasses, a black hooded jumper with the hood up, black tracksuit pants, red socks and black Nike shoes.

He was last seen running in the direction of Darwinia Terrace.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed or can provide information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference number 6291281. Information can be provided anonymously.
