Police seek witnesses to an attempted robbery and stabbing in Fyshwick

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an attempted robbery and stabbing in the carpark of a fast food outlet on Canberra Avenue and Nyrang Street, Fyshwick.

About 10.40pm on Friday, 19 January 2018, a male person assaulted a female by shocking her with an improvised electrical weapon, before attempting to steal her handbag.

Friends of the female came to her assistance, one of whom was then stabbed by the offender. The offender fled on foot.

The offender is described as being approximately 188cm (6’2”) tall, of medium build, wearing a black hooded jumper and dark shorts.

Police seeking anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and witnessed anything unusual, or who may have dash-cam footage from the location to contact Police on 131 444, or to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
