Police seeking assistance in identifying man approaching students in Belconnen

Can you help?

ACT Policing is investigating recent incidents in the Belconnen area where a small number of primary school aged children have been approached by a man in a white sedan.

Police have received multiple reports of a man approaching students before and after school in the suburbs of Melba, Flynn and Fraser. As a result of these reports there is an increased police presence in and around these suburbs.

We are seeking to identify the man who is described as 30-40 years old, with short dark hair and tattoos on his arms and chest.

The man’s vehicle has been described as small white four door sedan that possibly has black louvers on the rear window.

ACT Policing is working closely with the Education Directorate who have issued a reminder to school communities in this area that this is a good time to remind everyone to help our children understand the importance of stranger safety and the importance of reporting any unusual approaches immediately.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 6238953. Information can be provided anonymously.
