Police Warning: dangers of flooded waterways and drains

Following heavy rainfall overnight, ACT Policing is reminding the community to stay clear of drains and fast-moving waterways and never drive, ride or walk through flood water.

It’s also important to be aware of river crossing closures and never attempt to cross when a closure is in place.

Floodwater can be deeper and flow faster than it looks on the surface.

ACT Policing is also calling for drivers to drive carefully in the wet and slippery conditions, don’t forget those headlights and slow down!
