Statement – Parliament House Protest

Special Response Group (SRG) negotiators, along with ACT Policing General Duties officers and special rescue units attended Parliament House this morning in response to a protest.

SRG negotiators spoke to two protestors at the scene who had abseiled down the front of Parliament House. Shortly after those negotiations the male and female ended their protest.  

Both will be summonsed to appear before court at a later.

The protesters who had gathered in the pond at the front of Parliament House came out on their own accord. They were spoken to by police before being asked to move on.
