Theft and vandalism at Kambah school

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to theft and vandalism at the Namadgi School on O’Halloran Circuit in Kambah on Wednesday (2 November).

Around 10.45pm, officers from Tuggeranong Police Station responded to a report of a burglary at Namadgi School.

On arrival, police identified a number of buildings had been broken into, and items including iPads and laptops had been stolen. Extensive graffiti was also located throughout the school.

The estimated cost of the theft and vandalism is between $20,000 to $25,000.

Acting Station Sergeant Karen Drake of Tuggeranong Station said she was very disappointed to see this damage to the school, and called on the community to assist police in holding those accountable and also preventing this type of crime in the future.

“We would urge anyone who lives near a school, or perhaps uses the school grounds for sport or recreation, to help police in preventing this type of senseless criminal behaviour and vandalism,” Acting Station Sergeant Drake said.
