Three arrested after aggravated robberies

ACT Policing has arrested a 43-year-old man and two juveniles following two aggravated robberies yesterday (Thursday, 17 March 2016).

About 6.20pm yesterday, a male cyclist was approached by two juveniles and a man near Jenke Circuit, Kambah. The cyclist was assaulted and his mobile phone was stolen.

About 6.30pm yesterday, another male cyclist riding on the underpass footpath on Athlon Drive, Greenway was approached by two juveniles and a man. The man was forced from his bicycle, assaulted and his wallet stolen.

The three alleged offenders were then restrained by the first victim and other passing cyclists. On police arrival, the three offenders were arrested.

A 43-year-old man has been charged with four offences including two counts of aggravated robbery in company and will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Friday, 18 March 2016).

One of the juveniles was charged with four offences including two counts of aggravated robbery in company and will face the ACT Children’s Court this morning.

Investigations are continuing, with the second juvenile to be charged at a later date.
