Two arrested; stolen property seized in Griffith

Two men will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning in relation to stolen property and burglary charges. ACT Policing seized more than $30,000 worth of suspected stolen property from a residence in Griffith during a search warrant yesterday (Friday, 11 December).

On Friday afternoon, Woden General Duties members attended the property on Lockyer Street, Griffith to execute the search warrant following information received by police.

During the search, police located and seized a large amount of items including high quality bicycles, construction tools and recreation and sporting equipment. The estimated value of the items is approximately $30,000.

Other items that were seized include compound bow and arrows, boating and camping equipment, fishing equipment, computers and mobile phones, golf clubs, bike parts and accessories and hiking equipment.

Police suspect all the items were most likely stolen from a number of vehicle break-ins and property theft in Red Hill and Griffith. Police will assess the items against stolen property reports and endeavor to return the property to the original owners.
