Two will face court this morning following an incident in Kambah yesterday afternoon (Sunday, 6 November).

About 3.48pm, police attended a residence in Livingston Avenue, Kambah in relation to First Instance Warrants for a 24-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man.

On arrival, police identified a vehicle of interest in the carport, a blue Subaru WRX sedan. Police parked their marked police vehicle in the driveway directly behind the Subaru.

The 34-year-old man fled the residence in the Subaru WRX sedan, ramming a police vehicle, colliding with the carport causing the roof to collapse and ramming a police motorcycle, narrowly missing the officer. Police did not pursue the vehicle.

The 24-year-old Kambah woman and the male resident (a 23-year-old man) were arrested. During the arrest, two police officers were injured with one officer transported to the Canberra Hospital by ACT Ambulance Service.

The man and woman were conveyed to the ACT Watch House and will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Monday, 7 November). The woman will appear on a First Instance Warrant and for failing to appear after a bail undertaking. The man will face court for knowingly obstructing/resisting a territory public official.

Police are still seeking to arrest the 34-year-old man who is described as of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, about 168cm (5’6” tall), slim build with a shaved head and brown eyes.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen this man or the blue Subaru WRX sedan to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au using reference number 6031783. Information can be provided anonymously.
