Two men arrested for aggravated burglary

ACT Policing arrested two men last night (Sunday, March 22) in Harrison for aggravated burglary following a report of a disturbance.

About 8.10pm the two men, aged 18 and 23, are alleged to have entered a home in Harrison and confronted a resident regarding the ownership of a car. The males threatened the resident while demanding keys to the car.

Police responded and located the two men nearby. A 23-year-old man from Braddon was located with a knife in his possession. A kitchen knife was also located in the car the males had arrived at the location in.

Both males were arrested and taken to the ACT Regional Watch House. As the 23-year-old was transported, his actions caused police to suspect he was secreting something. A further search of the man located a number of bags suspected to contain methylamphetamine.

The 18-year-old Chisholm man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday, March 23) charged with aggravated burglary.

The 23-year-old Braddon man will also face court today charged with aggravated burglary, possess knife and possess a drug of dependence.
