Update (3) – House fire in Bonner

ACT Policing’s investigation into a suspicious fire which occurred at a residence in Bonner on Monday, 19 February 2018 remains ongoing.

On Monday, bodies of three deceased people were removed from the premises.  Autopsies have now been completed with toxicology reports still pending.

The formal identification process of the deceased persons is continuing. ACT Policing stresses that at this time we have been unable to positively confirm the identities of the three people. As a result no next of kin notifications have occurred.

We recognise the interest in this matter and note speculation on the circumstances.

This is an extremely complex investigation. There are a large number of investigative avenues currently being examined to assist in determining the circumstances that led to this tragic outcome. To this end, investigators are working as quickly and methodically as possible.
