Warrants lead to cash and drugs

ACT Policing has arrested and charged a 24-year-old man following the execution of a Drugs of Dependence Act search warrant in Belconnen yesterday (Thursday, May 19).

Members of the ACT Criminal Investigations Crime Targeting Team with assistance from National Canine Operations executed the search warrant at a residence in Belconnen.

During the search of the premises police seized a quantity of Cocaine, Methylamphetamine and Cannabis along with scales and equipment associated with drug trafficking. A large sum of cash was also seized.

A second warrant was executed on a premises in Gungahlin, where another large sum of cash was seized.

The man was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled drug other than cannabis. He will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court this morning where police will oppose bail.
