Witnesses and footage sought following collisions involving 17 cars on the Tuggeranong Parkway

Seeking witnesses

Police are seeking public assistance in relation to multiple collisions that occurred on the Tuggeranong Parkway near the Cotter Road overpass early on Thursday 19 May 2022.

At about 6.45am on the 19th of May, a wheel came loose from a car and landed in the northbound lanes. Multiple vehicles swerved to avoid it and subsequently a nine vehicle collision occurred at the end of the Cotter Road on-ramp heading north.

Further collisions occurred near the fixed speed cameras in the north and southbound lanes. Extensive traffic delays ensued. Thankfully no injuries occurred.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team are seeking drivers who witnessed the first collision (who have not already spoken to police) to come forward. Police are also seeking witnesses and/or dash-cam footage from any vehicle driving in the vicinity of the collisions between 6:00am and 8:00am Thursday (19 May 2022).
