Witnesses sought after stabbing in Weston

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after an altercation and stabbing occurred in Weston on Saturday (11 March 2017) afternoon.

Police were called to the Cooleman Court car park around 3:45pm after reports of two men having an altercation and one man being stabbed.

Police attended the car park in the company of ACT Ambulance Service and located a 46-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest area.  The man was treated by ACT Ambulance Service and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe that the two men commenced an altercation at the Independent Living Centre, Parkinson Street, Weston and it was at this time the 46-year-old man was stabbed.  The alleged offender then fled the area and the 46-year-old man walked across the car park to Cooleman Court where he sought assistance.

The man believed to be responsible for the stabbing can be described as between 165cm-172cm in height with a slim build, dark short hair and a ‘goatee’ beard.  At the time of the altercation, the man was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
