Witnesses sought to aggravated robbery in Greenway

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery outside the Tuggeranong Hockey Centre on Soward Way, Greenway on Monday (16 May 2016).

About 11.00am, a 75-year-old woman was standing next to her vehicle when a man approached and opened the rear passenger side door.

When confronted by the woman, he threatened her with a knife. The offender took a large sum of cash from the victim’s purse which was located in the vehicle, before fleeing in a black station wagon eastbound towards the Tuggeranong Town Centre.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his mid 30’s, about 180cm (5’11”) tall. 

He was wearing khaki shorts, a short sleeved orange high visibility t-shirt and an orange plastic fingerless glove on his left hand. The offender was clean shaven and was also wearing a yellow and blue construction style helmet.

Police are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Greenway area around 11am on Monday, can identify the offender or who has any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website.
