Witnesses sought to aggravated robbery in Manuka

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery that occurred at the Manuka shops on Bougainville Street, Griffith on Saturday 27 May.

About 10.45pm, a man was walking to his vehicle on Bougainville Street carrying a sum of cash from a nearby business, when he was approached by two males in a turquoise 2016 Suzuki Vitara. The vehicle stopped and one male opened the passenger-side door, threatened the victim and made demands for the cash.

The victim complied with the demands and the males fled the area in the vehicle towards Flinders Way.

The male who threatened the victim is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20’s with a slim build.

Crime Manager - Response, Detective Sergeant Matthew Reynolds said every piece of information can assist police.

“We are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time, or who may have dash cam or CCTV footage of the vehicle to contact police.”

If you are unfortunate enough to be a victim of an aggravated robbery, I urge you to think about your personal safety and comply with the demands of the offender, it is not worth being injured.” Sergeant Reynolds said.
