Witnesses sought to attempted robbery at Belconnen fast food outlet

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an attempted robbery at a Belconnen fast food restaurant on Saturday, 31 December 2022.  

About 10.40pm, a man allegedly armed with a meat cleaver entered the Hungry Jacks restaurant on Emu Bank and demanded money.  

A short time later, the man fled the scene on foot empty handed. No one was injured during the incident.  

The man was subsequently arrested about 10.30pm on Sunday, 1 January 2023, and is expected to face court today (Monday, 2 January 2023).  

Police have already spoken to a number of witnesses, however would still like to speak to anyone else who witnessed the incident who has not yet spoken to police.
