Witnesses sought to café fire in Weston
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a fire which occurred in a Weston café overnight (Thursday, March 13).
Sometime between midnight and 12.30am, offenders have gained entry to Brierly’s Café, located on Brierly Street, Weston.
An alarm was activated, with a security firm contacting the owners. On arrival a fire was observed in the kitchen area of the café.
Police were called to the fire about 12.47am and on arrival observed ACT Fire and Rescue in attendance, extinguishing the fire.
The fire was deemed suspicious by ACT Fire and Rescue who handed the scene over to ACT Policing about 2.30am.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding the fire or may have witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area prior to the fire.
