ACT Policing are seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery in Conder during the early hours of this morning (Sunday 26 March 2017).

About 12.20am, a man entered the Domino’s pizza restaurant at the Lanyon Marketplace on Sidney Nolan Street, Conder. The man threatened staff with a knife, demanding cash. A staff member handed the offender a bag containing an amount of cash. The offender left the restaurant and entered the passenger side of a blue Mazda 323 Astina with no registration plates on Box Hill Avenue Conder, which left the area in the direction of Gordon.

The offender was described as being a man of a lanky build and being about 5’7” (170cm) tall. He was wearing a black jumper with a white motif on the back, black tracksuit pants with a white motif on the bottom right leg and a black covering over his face.

A short time later a police patrol located the Mazda 323 Astina travelling on Lanyon Drive and signaled to the driver to stop. The driver did not stop and the patrol briefly pursued the vehicle before terminating the pursuit seconds later on Lanyon Drive.

About 4.20am, ACT Fire and Rescue notified police of a vehicle fire on Majura Road, near the northern intersection with the Majura Parkway, Majura. ACT Fire and Rescue extinguished the blaze. Police attended and confirmed that the vehicle was the same blue Mazda 323 involved in the robbery.

Police are currently seeking CCTV from the Lanyon Marketplace and any witnesses to the aggravated robbery in Conder about 12.20am or the car fire in Majura about 4.20am.
