Witnesses sought to incidents in Belconnen

ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two men involved in several incidents in Belconnen on Wednesday, 30 December 2015.

About 8.05am, police responded to reports of an attempted aggravated robbery and an aggravated robbery by two males outside the 7-Eleven on Melba Circuit in Melba. 

About 8.00am, a driver was approached by the two offenders, one holding a gun and the other holding a knife. They made demands for the keys to the vehicle, which were refused. The offenders then attempted to enter the 7 Eleven store without success.

The offenders approached a second vehicle, demanding the driver’s wallet and for the driver to exit the vehicle. The driver complied and the two males fled in the vehicle, a 1989 white Toyota Camry with NSW registration ADB95M.

A credit card from the wallet was used to make several purchases between 8.26am and 8.37am at Kaleen Supabarn, Kaleen Newsagency and Giralang 7 Eleven before the card was cancelled.

The first offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 183cm (6’0”) tall with a slim build and brown hair. He was wearing a ‘Sushi Radio’ t-shirt and red/pink shorts and black running shoes.

The second offender was also Caucasian in appearance, approximately 183cm (6’0”) tall with a slim build and brown hair. He was wearing grey tracksuit pants and white and black running shoes.

Police are still seeking to locate the vehicle.
