Witnesses sought to Wanniassa incident
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an incident this morning (Saturday, March 15) in Wanniassa in which a man was threatened with a machete.
Around 8.05am, a 20-year-old man was walking on Gaunson Crescent when the incident occurred.
The victim ran away from the offender up Cruikshank St. He had dropped his mobile phone and headphones as he fled, but this property was later recovered by police.
The offender wore black pants and a black hooded top pulled close over his head, and a bandanna. He is suspected to have been driving a small, dark-coloured Honda two-door sedan.
Police are urging any witnesses who may have seen the offender or the vehicle in the area or who may be able to provide information to assist the police investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
