ACT Policing has arrested a 23-year-old Fraser woman following an incident at a shopping centre yesterday (Friday, 25 May 2018).

About 3.40pm, a woman was stopped as she attempted to leave David Jones in Civic with items suspected of being stolen. After returning the items, the woman allegedly produced a used syringe and threatened to stab store security personnel with it.

The woman then fled the shopping centre, and entered the passenger seat of a car without the driver’s consent and produced a knife, which she pointed at the driver’s face, demanding to be driven away.

About 7.25pm police located the woman as she was returning to her Fraser residence, where she was arrested.

The woman has been charged with demands with threat to endanger health, trespass and theft.

She will face the ACT Magistrates Court today where police will oppose bail. Police investigations are continuing into further alleged offences including aggravated robbery, drug possession and other property offences.
