Woman robbed in Manuka; witnesses sought

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a robbery which occurred in Manuka last night (Thursday, March 13).

About 8pm, a 24-year-old woman was opening her car door, which was parked on Murray Crescent (between Capitan Cook Crescent and Flinders Way), when a man approached from behind, grabbing her handbag.

The woman turned around to face the man, who then punched her to the face and stomach, before fleeing with the handbag.

He was last seen running in the direction of Captain Cook Crescent.

The offender is described as Caucasian, approximately 20 years of age and having short brown hair.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area prior to the robbery, or can help identify the man to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
