452 cannabis plants seized following search warrants

Three men will face court today after multiple search warrants were executed as part of an ongoing investigation into the cultivation of commercial quantities of cannabis in the ACT.

An investigation conducted by officers from Belconnen Station saw search warrants executed at homes in Amaroo, Macgregor and Ainslie yesterday (Wednesday, 15 December 2021).

255 plants were seized from a Macgregor house and 197 plants were seized from an Amaroo house. 

A 34-year old man and a 35-year-old man were each charged with one count of cultivating a commercial quantity of a controlled plant for sale.

A 64-year-old man faces two charges of cultivating a commercial quantity of a controlled plant for sale.

All three are scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today (Thursday, 16 December 2021).

Anyone with information about the manufacture, distribution and sale of illicit drugs in the ACT is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
