A 31-year-old man from the suburb of Ngunnawal has been charged with drug and firearm offences following his arrest yesterday.  

On Wednesday (15 December 2021) detectives attached to Taskforce Nemesis arrested the 31-year-old at his residence.

This was part of an ongoing investigation of outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) drug distribution in the ACT and the surrounding region.

The man was charged with attempted trafficking of a controlled drug (other than cannabis), possession of ammunition and two counts of possessing prohibited firearms.

The man is scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today (Thursday, 16 December 2021).

An associate of the man, who was arrested by Taskforce Nemesis detectives in November, will also face court today on fresh charges including two counts of attempted trafficking in a controlled drug (other than cannabis), cultivation of cannabis for sale, and two counts of possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.
